Heather McLean, Trustee of Feisty Women
Graduate Primary School Teacher
Heather retired in 2015 after 38 years as a primary school teacher in various Tayside, Fife and Grampian schools. Having a mortgage and no state pension as expected at age 60, she has no choice but to return to work full-time supply teaching. Heather also shares the care of her 92-year-old mother, who has dementia, with her sister.
Heather has extensive experience of representation, negotiation and problem resolution having served as the EIS union rep in various schools for 35 years.
Heather feels strongly about the injustice and sexual discrimination of fifties-born women. She feels cheated by the Westminster Government and is determined to play an active part in the Feisty Women campaign fight to gain justice for women affected throughout the UK.
